For Credit: 

Students interested in laboratory research for credit are encouraged to apply. Applications are considered on a rolling basis.

Students in the O’Connor lab are trained and mentored by the faculty investigator and responsible for completing a small independent research project. Responsibilities include learning and applying standard genetics, microbiology, molecular and cell biology, and biochemical, collecting and recording data, analyzing data and developing critical thinking skills. In addition, students contribute to the general promoting a collaborative and cooperative work environment.

Prior research experience is not necessary however students should have completed Genetics, Biochemistry and Cell biology. These positions require a commitment of 10-15 hrs/week in 4-5 hour blocks of time, 2-3 days a week.

Paid Positions: 

Announcements for paid research positions are posted on ForagerOne and SMILE. These positions require a commitment of 10-15 hrs/week in 4-5 hour blocks of time 2-3 days a week.
